This page explains our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and general disclaimers for visitors, artists, and studios using this site.

Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

We collect information when you:

• Submit a tattoo artist or shop listing
• Create or edit a profile
• Contact us or request a listing update
• Subscribe to our newsletter or fill out a form

The data we may collect includes:

• Personal information: name, email, phone, social media, location
• Business information: shop name, address, website, hours, service types
• Usage data: pages visited, device type, IP address, browser, referring source

How We Use Information

We use your information to:

• Publish and manage artist/shop listings
• Communicate about your account, submissions, or listing updates
• Send marketing or promotional updates (only with consent)
• Improve our directory, analytics, and website performance

Legal Basis

Processing is based on your consent and legitimate business interests.

Data Sharing

We may share limited information with:

• Service providers (hosting and analytics tools)
• Law enforcement if required by law

We never sell your personal data.

Data Retention

We retain data as long as your account or listing is active or as required by law. You may request deletion at any time.

Cookies and Analytics

We use analytics to understand what people use and where the site can be improved.

Analytics are on by default so we can understand broad traffic patterns and see where the directory needs work. This does not identify visitors by name or email.

Closing or waiting out the privacy notice does not opt you out. You can opt out at any time through Your Privacy Choices or the footer link.

If your browser sends a privacy signal such as Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we treat that as an analytics opt-out.

Data Rights

You have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal information
• Withdraw consent for marketing emails

Account Deletion

Self-serve account or profile deletion is not available yet. To request deletion, email hello@tattooshopsportland.com, and we will process your request within 30 days.

When we complete a deletion request:

• Your account and authentication data are removed from our database, if applicable
• Your artist or studio profiles are removed from the public directory
• Your uploaded images are no longer publicly accessible

Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days as part of our standard backup rotation. If a backup is restored, we will re-apply any deletion requests received after that backup was created.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect and how it is used
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal data)

Image Metadata

When images are uploaded to PDX Tattoos, we strip EXIF metadata, including GPS coordinates, camera info, and timestamps, before storing or displaying them. This helps prevent location or device data from being embedded in publicly visible images.

Security

We use SSL encryption, secure hosting, and limited data access controls. No system is 100% secure; use the site at your own risk.

Terms of Service

Acceptance

By using tattooshopsportland.com, you agree to these terms. If you disagree, do not use the site.

User Content

You are responsible for the accuracy of all content submitted, including images, descriptions, and links. By submitting, you grant PDX Tattoos a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and promote your listing.

Prohibited Conduct

Do not:

• Post false, defamatory, or infringing content
• Attempt to scrape, hack, or misuse the directory
• Submit AI-generated or plagiarized portfolio images

Directory Accuracy

We strive to verify listings but cannot guarantee accuracy or availability. PDX Tattoos is not liable for errors, omissions, or transactions between users and artists.

Termination

We may remove listings, suspend accounts, or refuse service for violations of these terms.

Directory Disclaimer

• Listings may include information submitted by artists, studios, or community members.
• Always verify credentials, licensing, availability, and studio details independently.
• PDX Tattoos assumes no liability for disputes between visitors, artists, or studios.
• Users agree to indemnify and hold PDX Tattoos harmless from any claims arising from listings or interactions on the site.

Intellectual Property

All text, graphics, branding, and layout elements of PDX Tattoos are protected by copyright. You may not reproduce or distribute content without written consent.
